Although package arrived with a knife slice clear across the bag, with dirt in that portion of the padding, I just cut that section out & don't use it.As for quality, yeah - these are better than Fluval Quik Clear & slightly thinner, allowing me to use 2 of them at the top of each of my Fluval Edge filters to be sure all the small particles are grabbed. Definitely cheaper than Fluval too, so as long as seller doesn't get greedy & jack the cost I'll continue to buy these for a long time. I go through this type of filter fast with 3 large frogs.I use this to make my own pre-filter “socks”. Keeps my canister main filter cleaner for much longer and the water stays crystal clear. I can make about 20-30 socks out of one 72” roll and they last about a week.I also use it to make filter pads for my cat water fountain. Great product, but wish it was cheaper.Full disclosure I used this product along with similar products to wrap my pond pump. I expected improvement but omg amazing. Went from 1.6 foot visibility to crystal clear in 24 hrs. Will buy again for sureI’ve bought several of these and it’s a very good deal.I LIKE THESE FILTER PADS...EXCELLENT QUALITY....JUST WISH THEY WERE A LITTLE CHEAPER.....I use it to replace the filter in my fish tank.I cut the filter to match my filter device and works great. My aquaria are heavy planted, and with natural wood, plush fish and snails so there's a lot to filter. I rinse the filter pads (weekly) and use them for 2 - 4 weeks depending on load. The water flow may be reduced before water getting cloudy or dirty looking. The filter rinses very nicely, doesn't lose structure as other filters when rinsing for reuse.We are using this for our koi pond and it works great.
