For the following reasons. 1) They work very well at filtering things out of your water. A family members mishap of pouring tea into all our bottles and pitchers became a impromptu test for some of us who didn't catch the mistake. It removed all the tea color flavor & sugar. Only when refilling did we notice the sticky brown residue on the filters.(we now leave our Cool Gear Bottles on a different shelf from our Brita.) They are a economical and environmental friendly choice that work much better than other more expensive filters I have tried. 3 These filters fit both the Sport and Hard side Brita bottles. 4 I find them much easier to start I run the outside and the inside of the filter under the water for 15 to 20 seconds. Have had not had no residue in my drink in the 8 refills I have used . SO GLAD I can now buy them here now! Highest recommendation I could give .Has been these for years. Long durability and filtration life. No extra taste. Good shelf life.These replacement filters are so necessary for the Brita Hard Sided Water Bottle. Just like the soft side bottles, the filter starts to block the flow of water after a couple of months use. You will know when to change the filter, the water flow slows down. It is nice to know the filter IS actually doing its job of blocking the tiny particulate matter, that gets into our water, before it enters our bodies. As stated in the instructions, rinse the filter before use. All you have to do to rinse it out is run water over the outside of the new filter and into the holes at the top and bottom. A thorough cleaning will prevent the black carbon from the filter getting into your mouth. Enjoy your clean clear good tasting water!!I love these Brita Water Bottle filters! I made the decision to stop drinking bottled water as I absolutely hated how much plastic I was going through every single day. I bought one of the Brita water bottles and now the water from my tap tastes just like bottled water. I am very picky about the taste of my water and this has solved my problem. My first filter lasted a couple of months and then I noticed the taste was a little off so I put a new filter in and problem solved. I love that these come in a 2 pack so you can stay ahead of the filter change. Great product!I'm following up on a previous post. I had tried replacement filters before but they didn't seem to last as long as the original. But I thought I'd give them another chance and report back my findings. Both of these replacement filters lasted me about 3 weeks. The filters that come with the bottle last closer to 6 weeks. I don't understand why this could possibly be, but it's happened a second time.My first filter went in on May 28 and the 2nd on June 22nd and I luckily had purchased a two pack of bottles so I was able to go back to a new bottle on July 14th.I've been using these bottles for more than three years and really love them and I really want to love the replacement filters, but the cost ends up not working out since they don't last as long. And I don't like having to recycle plastic.The filters are always good. These need you to rinse the filter to get loose charcoal dust out of them, but once they are rinsed and soaked you just plug them into your regular Brita water bottle or Sport bottle and they work great. They last a couple of months depending on your use.
