Some assembly required. Parts are plastic, so durability varies with use. The last one I bought lasted 2 years with regular filter changes. Proper installation & filter changes are crucial for this unit. If you have iron deposits and/or harder than usual water, frequent filter changes are recommended to prevent premature clogging & leaks. All water filters basically perform the same, but check the specs if you are supplied by well water. I purchased this based on previous usage with well water & it's price point.
