I thought water always tasted like SOMETHING, no matter where you go. Depending on where you're at, a little metallic, perhaps a bit sweet, somewhat like eggs, whatever. I've tried water from fridge filters, with more or less the same results. With this filter, for the first time in my life, I've been drinking water that tastes like absolutely nothing. Game changer.Water that tastes like nothing has great perks if you make a lotta tea, like I do. Prior, my tea had a slight metallic taste. Matcha had a bitter aftertaste. I just dealt with it because I didn't know any better, had access to no better, and it wasn't to the point that the tea or matcha was ruined. Now? Big difference. Tea tastes smoother, less sharp. The flavor of whatever I'm brewing shines more. Matcha no longer has a bitter aftertaste. I have changed nothing about the way I brew tea or make matcha BESIDES using water from the Brita filter, which admittedly I didn't expect to change anything. Shocked that it has!Not turning back to drinking unfiltered tap water at my home anytime soon. I'm recommending this sink filter to everyone I know. Easy to install and will be easy to replace once the filter's time is up.REVISED DEC/13/2021. I changed to 4 Stars from 1 Star. I've just got off the phone, a call to BRITA, because I was still within 1 year warranty. BRITA will send me a replacement. This call was probably the easiest and shortest call ever that I've made to customer service complaining about defective products. I said, the Led Indicator stopped working and that I purchased it from Amazon in this May. The agent simply stated that they would send me a replacement, then asked me my name and address. Despite the said 5-Star customer service experience, I deducted 1 Star because I'm concerned if the LED light of the replacement would not stop working in 5 months.Compared to "CULLIGAN FM-15A Faucet-Mount Advanced Water Filter, 200 Gallon, White" (Purchased in 2021 May for $21.79) BRITA, White, 100 Gallon (Purchased on 2019 Sep, $19.99) beats Culligan in all 3 critical features. My BRITA, however, had a very-short-life-span Filter Replacement Indicator Light. The defects concerns me very much because It's the LED Light which attracted me the most. Should the LED LIght of the replacement fail quickly like my 1st one did, it's a major red flag. GOOD: 1) EASY TO INSTALL. To remove an old filter, you just need to press a gray button on the backside of the filter, and, while pressing the button, lifting up the filter. It works just like a CD Player's Disc Eject Button does. Culligan: It took me a total of 4 long hours for installation plus 0.5-1-hour for replacing a filter every 3.5 months. After the unsuccessful 3.5-hour installation attempt, I almost gave up and thought about returning the Brita. 2) 3 SPRAY OPTIONS – filtered water, unfiltered water, and unfiltered spray. Culligan has only one spray used for both filtered and unfiltered. 3) LED FILTER REPLACEMENT INDICATOR. It's my most favorite feature of Brita's, which Culligan does not have. Thanks to this consumer friendly feature, I was relieved from time-consuming, frustration-causing "guessing" the time to replace a filter, which I did while using Culligan. Even when Culligan's filter capacity is 200 Gallons, twice as much as Brita's, I prefer Brita because of this INDICATOR. I used to have to calculate the date based on the date of the installation of a new filter and the guessed amount of water which I thought I used each day. Once I guessed the date, I conducted the water tasting test, comparing filtered and unfiltered water, sipping them back and forth repeatedly. For I'm not a sommelier, I was never sure, or nearly sure, that one tasted better than another even after I conducted the tasting test 3 different times of the day, morning, midday, and evening. BAD: LED FILTER REPLACEMENT INDICATOR, my favorite feature of Brita's, suddenly went off and never came back on after just 5 months of using it. Since it's within Brita's 1 year warranty period, I expect them to replace it with a new one, which has not happened yet. Per Answers to Questions, The LED INDICATOR is "battery-operated," the battery's life is 6 months, and "you cannot change the battery because it's designed that way." BAD: 2) COSTS 2 TIMES AND MORE AS CULLIGAN: Let's say that Brita would send me a new one, but a question arises - Are they going to send me a new one every 5-6 months for good? I guess, it's unlikely. Then, if Brita would refuse to send me a new one now, I would be left with 3 difficult choices - (1) I would keep using my Brita with no Indicator. Meaning, I will have to go back to the guessing, calculating, and testing routine; (2) I would buy a new Brita, paying the increased price of $22.80 (as of Oct/27/2021); and (3) I would go back to Culligan, paying $25.04 + Tax plus another 4-hour labor of installing the filter and 0.5-1-hour labor of replacing an old filter.I bought this because my daughter has one and loves it. But after hours of effort and frustration I'm giving up on it. My Delta kitchen faucet has inside threads and none of the included adapters fit. I called Brita and their customer service was great. They rushed a new, different adapters to me. But none of those fit either. I even bought a male/male 55/64 adapter--didn't work. They say that this product fits standard faucets Guess my Delta faucet isn't standard. Disappointed--I really wanted this to work!Following installation, I did a blind taste test with my 12 year old kid. Three glasses containing plain tap water, bottled water and Britta filtered. Tap water was easily detected due to our hard water in central Texas. Interestingly, the bottled water and Britta were indistinguishable. I'd call that a success as I was getting tired of hauling gallon jugs of drinking water from the store. One note on installation that could be helpful. It takes a fair pressure to push water through the filter so it appears pretty critical to ensure the filter is seated correctly AND the unit is properly fitted to the faucet. I initially saw some leakage at the faucet/filter fitting so disconnected it and wrapped some Teflon tape around the faucet threads. I reinstalled the filter and got a zero leak connection. Maybe in the future Britta might include a small piece of Teflon tape for this purpose. It could probably help people from over tightening the filter and damaging the unit.a bit disappointed with the water flow with the filtered switches. doesnt seem to completely filter out all the minerals because we still get particulates in the ice cubes in the bottom of the glass after the cubes meltMy water started tasting funny a couple weeks ago. I like to stay hydrated and primarily drink only tap water and it was getting to be difficult for me to drink. I'm not usually very picky but it's been pretty gross. Turns out it's something wrong with our city water, something about algae that's apparently safe but causes the bad taste? I ordered this yesterday, it was delivered and installed today and my water tastes good again. Thank goodness! When I went install, none of the adapters included fit my faucet. There are numbers to call in the instruction manual. 1 for the USA 1 for Canada. Called the Brita Canadian number and was told they don't ship parts to Canada. If I was in the US they would have helped me out. All they would suggest is going to a hardware store and try to luck out finding the right size. WHY bother saying call this Canada number if adapters don't fit!!!This item, despite selling on amazon.co.uk, is not compatible with UK faucets ! It doesn't fit UK faucets, and is also not actually helpful as it does nothing for limescale.I've spent hours trying to get it to install on our kitchen faucet and finally got in touch with Brita UK, who provided me the following very helpful information:>>>Thank you for your enquiry regarding the BRITA On-Tap system.Unfortunately, we don’t have any information or spares for this product as it is manufactured by Brita in North America, (produced under licence by Clorox a US conglomerate who bought and own the trademark rights of "BRITA" in the Americas) and isn’t distributed or manufactured by us in the UK.If you have any queries regarding the system please do advise them that you are in the U.K.The reason that there is not a screw on water filter system that fits onto the tap within the UK is because there are 148 different types of taps so the system would need to be designed differently to fit all of these. In the USA and Canada there are only five different tap designs. In addition to this, the American screw on filter system that you refer to just uses a carbon block filter, this means that it would not have any effect on reducing the temporary hardness (Limescale) within the water supply, temporary hardness is of course the biggest problem within the UK water supply. However, BRITA do manufacture a filter tap system, which is attached to the household water supply, providing instant BRITA filtered water on tap. Please take a look at BRITA water filter tap solutions | BRITA® for kitchen taps which provide filtered water. We also produce a carbon only filter that can be fitted to your existing tap for customers who are not concerned about lime-scale and only wish to improve the taste of their water.<<<
