I use this filter for my ice machine in the freezer. It seems to work just fine. I'm not really sure how often I should change it. A lot of these kinds of filters I believe are to be changed after two to three months, but we don't use a ton of ice and I also have a filter on the main water line. So with that in mind, I usually change it about every 4 to 6 months. Amazon have a very good price for these.
